Review for Kept Safe by Lucy Wild: ★★★

Kept SafeKept Safe by Lucy Wild

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

::..Reviewed for Red's Midnight Readers..::

I was kindly provided with an ARC in exchange for an honest review and I have given it 3-3.5 stars.

So this is the first book I have read by Lucy Wild and I have been left with conflicting emotions on how I feel about Kept Safe.

Initially I was rather quite intrigued by the blurb and couldn't wait to read it but after the first few chapters I realized that maybe this book wasn't for me. I felt like I had been drawn in and then left hanging.

The overall plot line was fairly interested but I feel it wasn't developed to it's potential as there seemed to be so much happening, as though the author had crammed as much story into this short book as possible and it was maybe a tad bit too much, as we were left with a lot of unanswered questions. The pace of the book moved very quickly, it literally hit the ground running. However, the sex scenes are incredibly hot!! You won't be disappointed in that department, I promise.

The darker story line did appeal me and I did quite enjoy it, however I think on the whole this book wasn't for me unfortunately.

Blurb
The whole town's looking for her...
No one knows where she is...
Except me.

I'm a respectable man, everyone says so.
I lead an ordinary life.
But I've got a secret, one that I'll do anything to protect.
Down in the cellar, away from prying eyes, she's waiting for me.

Whatever she needs, I provide.
I keep her clothed, I keep her fed, I keep her safe.
The only thing I can't give her is the one thing she wants even more than her freedom...me.

***A dark romance with no cliffhanger, no cheating and a HEA***
