Welcome to the Frosted Cowboy Book Tour!
Blurb:
Laney Delaney was living the dream. She had a fabulous fiancé and a career as a couture wedding dress designer. But after catching her (not-so-fabulous) fiancé cheating and being accused of upstaging one of her brides at a wedding, Laney finds herself with no boyfriend, no job and no plan.
After some serious soul searching, Laney is determined to start over. She embarks on a design career that takes her from a Rodeo Drive boutique to a flea market stall, but it's worth it—even if it means she has to suck up to her childhood nemesis for help.
At the same time, three very different men vie for her attention: a masseuse/screenwriter with an unfortunate reputation, a stable fireman who just doesn't spark a romantic flame, and the fireman's ridiculously hot co-worker whose illicit under-the-mistletoe kiss still burns Laney's lips.
Professionally and romantically, Laney is on the verge of reinventing her life and finding her true passion—but can she learn to trust again and believe in herself?

“Hi, is this Laney?” says an incredibly sexy male voice I recognize but can’t quite place. “Yes, who’s this?”
“It’s Jake.”
“Jake?” I practically screech into the phone.
“Um, yeah, we met at Derek and Jessica’s wedding. Shared a little moment under the mistletoe at their holiday party, then I saw you at the flea market…”
“I know who you are, Jake. You just surprised me.”
“So, how’s it going?”
“Um, fine. How’s it going with you?” I try to sound casual. I’m still in total shock. Why is he calling me?
“Great,” he says. “Hey, I know this is short notice, but I was wondering if you had plans tonight.”
“Are you asking me out? For tonight?”
I hear him clear his throat. “Um, yeah.”
I start to laugh. “At four o’clock in the afternoon on New Year’s Eve?!”
“I know, it’s totally lame, and I’m sure you’re busy. My shifts got switched at the last minute, and I know you’re not dating Mike any more, so I don’t know, I thought you might want to go out. I mean, I’m sure you have plans because you’re gorgeous and amazing, but I thought I’d take a chance.”
Did he just stumble all over himself and call me gorgeous and amazing? Pull it together, Laney. You have got to be cool with this guy.
“So am I the first girl you called, thinking she’d be loser enough to say yes to your last minute New Year’s plea, or am I more toward the end of the list?”
He laughs. “You’re the first, Laney. And the middle. And the last. If you shoot me down, I’ve got a hot date with my TV. Of course I’d prefer to go out with you. I don’t think my TV will kiss me at midnight.”
“Who says I’ll kiss you at midnight?”
“I thought I’d bring some mistletoe to hang over your head during the countdown just in case.”
I tingle at the thought of our illicit mistletoe kiss.
“C’mon,” he says, “what are you doing tonight?”
Play it cool, Laney, play it cool. Do not say yes. You will get the date, but not the respect. Rule #1 in Datingland anywhere in bright, big, neon letters is “DO NOT SAY YES TO A NEW YEAR’S EVE INVITATION OFFERED AT FOUR O’CLOCK IN THE AFTERNOON ON NEW YEAR’S EVE EVEN IF IT’S FROM THE HOTTEST GUY YOU’VE EVER MET AND YOUR ONLY ALTERNATIVE IS 15,OOO CALORIES OF CHINESE FOOD AND A KATHERINE HEIGL FILM FESTIVAL.”
“That’s so sweet of you Jake, but I already have plans,” is what I mean to say, but a flirty, “I’m entertaining offers,” comes out of my mouth instead. What the…?
“What kind of offers?”
“Oh, you know, I’ve been invited to a few parties. I’m still not quite sure which invitation I’ll be accepting.”
“Any chance you’ll be accepting mine? I’ll bring you flowers, and I promise to call in advance the next time I ask you out.”
“You already plan to ask me out again?”
“Of course, Laney. A guy doesn’t ask a girl out on New Year’s Eve unless he plans to see her again.”
Kapow. That was my heart practically exploding. But there it is, he said he was going to ask me out again. He is interested in me. Keep him interested. Thankfully decline. Say you’ve already accepted another invitation but would love to go out with him another time. I must be silent a little too long because before I can respond he says, “Please, Laney.”
And against my better judgment and all that I know to be right and true in the universe, I say, “Well, only because you seem so pathetic. And because I hear your TV is a lousy kisser.”
