I was very kindly provided with an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. I have given it 5 stars.

I always pick up Lisa J Hobman's books with some amount of trepidation. I'm not a crier but she always manages to reduce me to a bumbling, emotional wreck and true to form I was holding back big, ugly tears from page one.

I'm sure she just likes to make people cry....

I've said this before and I will keep saying it, she is one talented lady!!! She brings out all of the feels sadness, anger, guilt, grief, love and friendship. This was such a sweet, heart warming tale that is sure to bring a tear to the eye of even the most stoic of readers.

Poor Si is really put through the wringer after losing his brother and he still comes out smiling, he really endeared himself to me and Made sure that In His Place is right up there with my favourites!

Once again Lisa's effortless writing made for a smooth flowing story that glided effortlessly through the angst and drama into a sweet happy ever after. She is firmly cemented as one of my favourite authors, creating characters that make you love them harder with each and every word.

In His place is the second book in a series and I would recommend reading The Worst Of Me to fully enjoy Si's story.
