Mafia Romance
The Fallen Angel series, a mafia romance with a difference.

On the first day of her holiday to Washington, DC, Brooke Stiles meets Robert Stone.

Dark-eyed, damaged and dangerous - Stone has never had a normal relationship for fear of his past being exposed. Not knowing how to respect nor love, he struggles with his feelings for a woman who makes him question everything that he is.

Once Robert came to terms with the fact that he was in love with Brooke, he knew he could never let her go. Not letting her go means introducing her to his life, past and present.

However, when Robert’s past and present collide, Brooke does the one thing that Robert begs her not to. Does it change her? Has that light that he sees in her eyes been extinguished?

This is a story of an extraordinary couple who love, fight to survive, and become one of the most powerful 'families' in the U.S.

The Fallen Angel series is a mafia romance for readers over the age of 18. Contains graphic scenes of a sexual nature.

Excerpt from Fallen Angel, Part 1 (over 18’s)

We fell silent, looking at the view below. He lifted his hand and moved some hair from my shoulder exposing my neck. Lowering his head, he placed a small kiss on the side. His eyes met mine in the reflection of the glass; there was a question in them.

I should have been outraged but I wasn’t, I just felt an immediate attraction to him. A fire raged in the pit of my stomach, my heart missed a beat, fluttering in my chest, and I felt my legs start to shake. I wanted to lean back into him, to feel his body against mine. All the time I faced the glass wall with him behind me watching his reflection.

“I want you, Brooke,” he softly said.

I couldn’t answer; I felt entranced and all rational thought left my brain, leaving nothing but an overwhelming desire for him. I gently nodded my head.

He unzipped my dress and it fell, crumpled to my feet leaving me standing in just my underwear and shoes. I stepped out of the dress and wanted to turn to face him but he held my hips, keeping me still. With one hand he ran his fingers up my spine sending shivers through my body. His hands travelled over my shoulders and down my arms, holding them to my waist while his lips trailed a path from my neck to my ear. I wanted to reach up, to run my hand through his hair, and to touch him, but all the time he held me still.

A small moan escaped my lips and I felt him smile at my response. A burn started between my legs, my body was aching with desire for him. One arm circled my waist and with the other he ran his fingers down my throat, over the top of my breasts and down my stomach.

“Do you know what I want to do, Brooke? I want to watch you come and then I want to fuck you.”

An interview with Tracie Podger✸

1. So tell us a little about yourself. Tell us something that can't be found in your author bio.

I’m pretty much an open book and I’ll tell you something that most will know but isn’t detailed in my bio. I’ll tell you this because mental health is only now being spoken about openly and I’m an advocate for shouting from the rooftops, however uncomfortable that makes people feel, about it. I started writing a journal when I was in, what I affectionately call, the nut house! I detailed an experience I had and the reasons why it happened. When my treatment was finished I sat at home and wondered what to do, I wasn’t able to return to work. I decided to type that journal up. I loved the process of ‘creating’ this document and although it was for my eyes only, there was something cathartic about it. Somewhere along the line, that typed up journal became a story. I started to add some fiction to it and I got lost, I forgot my troubles and the process aided my healing. That journal, that story, because A Virtual Affair and was written some nine years ago. I never intend to publish that book; it wasn’t a book, just a story. But I allowed my husband to read it as a way to understand me and my illness. He was the one who encouraged me to ‘do something with it’. However, I caught the writing bug and I continue to write, a new story about a man who came to me in my dreams. I wrote, I wrote, and I wrote some more, I haven’t stopped writing. After a complete rewrite, A Virtual Affair was released in 2016 and is my best selling book.

2. How did you become an author?

Oh, I think I’ve answered that one above!

3.What inspires you to write the books that you do?

Life experiences, people that I meet, snippets of conversations that I hear – they all inspire me. I love to sit in a café and people watch. I’ll have made up a story about everyone of them.

4. When you are not writing, what can you be found doing instead?

I’m now a full time carer. My father had a stroke four years ago and is now paralysed down one side, partial sighted and partial hearing. I care for him in my home. So, between Dad and writing, I don’t get a lost of spare time!

5. Have you ever suffered from writer's block? If so, how did you overcome it?

Okay, controversial post coming…. I don’t believe in it. Let me tell you what I think it is. A wall, a huge brick, impenetrable wall was hit. Often we’re writing and it just stops and it’s not because the story, the words, the characters are all gone; it’s more because we lost our way. Where it get’s worse is, we panic! Why are the words gone? That panic escalates until all that fills our mind is more panic! When I get to a ‘wall’, I simply stop, I start something else, I take a break for a day, and occupy myself with something else. I’ll write a different genre until, one day, I go back to the wall with a hammer and chisel and I knock the f***ker down ;)

6. What are you currently reading?

I don’t read while I’m writing but my last read was Sick Fux by Tillie Cole and I loved it!

7.If you could co-write with another author, alive or dead who would you choose?

I’ve been asked this so many times but I don’t think I could co-write with someone. I plan my thrillers & Suspense but I’m a pantsa writer for everything else. I see my books in my head as a movie and I type what I see. I’m not sure I could accurately convey what I see.

8. Are you currently working on anything? Can you tell us a bit about it?

I’m working on two things at the moment, two things I’m quite excited about! I’m writing an anthology piece for a signing I’m attending next March. The signing is being held in Belfast in the Titanic museum and the theme for the anthology is Titanic. I started writing one piece and loved it so much that I can’t cap it at the level it’s required for the anthology. So, I’m keeping it and writing a full length. I started a new piece, a prequel as such which is set in 1912 and the research has been fantastic.

9. Any advice for aspiring authors?

There is no manual for this authoring lark so just sit and write a story. Don’t rush to publish it, though! Get the story out and go find your team. Remember one thing, the minute you put yourself out there as an author, you are open to criticism. You don’t have a ‘personal’ page, that’s where readers will find and friend you, so be aware, whatever you say or do will influence whether you sell books or not – sad, but true.

10. Please can you put all author links here?

Tracie's Top Five Characters❂

This is such a tricky question to answer because they are all like my children, I created them, so to pick a list is a terrible thing! However…

1. Robert Stone is my main man in the Fallen Angel Series, which is a mafia romance and has nothing to do with angels, fallen or otherwise. He’s a complex character, a damaged boy that became a powerful man. A man that decided, because of his past, love was never to fall at his door. That was until he met a British woman on holiday in the US and his world spiralled.

2.Mackenzie Miller is an American in London, he likes to facilitate, which means, to enable someone to achieve things. The Facilitator is an erotic romance and Mackenzie is the man to allow Lauren to fulfil all her fantasies.

3.Jackson Walker is a man I’ve had in my head for years. A very damaged man who expresses his sorrow through art. Sometimes that art is on the street, sometimes on his body. You’ll get to meet Jackson in December.

4. Miller Copeland is a builder, just an honest hardworking man who shares a story with Dani. Miller and Dani feature in Letters to Lincoln and I love them both equally. They are characters that have experienced trauma and have the courage to stand up and deal with it.

5 .Jayne from A Virtual Affair – because she is me.

✪✪✪Top five must reads✪✪✪
Hand picked by Tracie Podger...

MY TOP 5 READS

I don’t read as much as I used to, simply because I don’t read while I write, and I write a lot. However…

Where one Goes by B N Toler is a paranormal (and I want you to discard that word) romance. I sobbed from half way through to the end and I don’t cry at books. I’ve cried way too much in real life to let fiction affect me, this book broke me. It’s a romance, pure and simple and I’d like to link you to my review (although I don’t believe I am the greatest reviewer!) – Here
 Goodreads

Sick Fux by Tillie Cole is a dark read, I created a new category for this book because it just doesn’t fit in traditional categories. It’s a romantic crime and, for some, a tough read.
Goodreads

Wicked Beginnings by L.A. Cotton is a YA/NA crossover. I loved this book and it very much reminded me of Abbi Glines who I also love. It’s a college style romance with an edge.
Goodreads

The Breathing Series by Rebecca Donovan I’m putting these books together and although I loved the first way more than the last I devoured them all. I read the first through tear-blurred eyes and finished early hours of the morning. I got up, went downstairs and downloaded book two because I just had to know what happened next!
Goodreads

I’m going to add one of my own and let me tell you why…

A Virtual Affair by me! I don’t generally read my own books for pleasure, I’ve read them six or seven times before they go print and I’ll often need a break from the characters and the story to be able to move on to the next. However, this book I have read for pleasure and a couple of times. Sometimes I read this to prove to myself how far I’ve come with my depression and sometimes I read this because I get a lot of emails and messages from readers of this book who will identify with Jayne and I want to highlight some passages that I feel would be of help.
