Skipping ChristmasSkipping Christmas by John Grisham

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

::..Reviewed for Red's Midnight Readers..::

This is probably the best Christmas story I have ever read!!

Two people decide to forego Christmas traditions and "skip" Christmas. However their plans don't go according to plan when their only child decides to come home for Christmas.

Skipping Christmas was absolutely hilarious with lots of laugh out loud moments that will keep you turning the pages again and again!
However, one of the things that I loved about this book was the fact that it wasn't your typical mushy romance....there is nothing wrong with them BUT I was in the mood for something funny and something festive and Skipping Christmas delivered exactly that. This is two people who find themselves in a bit of a bind after their Christmas plans are thwarted and how their suburban Community pull together to create a true Christmas Miracle.

This is a perfect story for those who are looking for a light humored read this Christmas.

Imagine a year without Christmas. No crowded shops, no corny office parties, no fruitcakes, no unwanted presents. That's just what Luther and Nora Krank have in mind when they decide that, just this once, they'll skip the holiday altogether. Theirs will be the only house on the street without a rooftop Frosty the snowman; they won't be hosting their annual Christmas Eve bash; they aren't even going to have a tree. They won't need one, because come December 25 they're setting sail on a Caribbean cruise. But, as this weary couple is about to discover, skipping Christmas brings enormous consequences - and isn't half as easy as they'd imagined.

A classic tale for modern times, Skipping Christmas offers a hilarious look at the chaos and frenzy that has become part of our holiday tradition.
