Review for Absent in the Spring (Shakespeare Sisters 3) by Carrie Elks: ★★★★★

Absent in the Spring (Shakespeare Sisters 3)Absent in the Spring by Carrie Elks

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

::..Reviewed for Red's Midnight Readers..::

I was very kindly offered an ARC in exchange for an honest review, I have given it 5 huge stars!

Having read and enjoyed the previous books in this series, I had high hopes for Absent in the Spring and couldn't wait to jump right in. Let me tell you Carrie Elks did NOT disappoint.
Once again I found myself absolutely blown away by Carrie's superb writing style, that just seems to flow seamlessly, mesmerizing her readers with her words.
This is the third book in a series and follows eldest Shakespeare sister Lucy. Lucy is always in control and this control is tested in ways she never imagined when she meets new client Lachlan MacLeish. From their first meeting the chemistry is sizzling and the drama that consequentially unfolds took me on a roller coaster ride of feels and I cold not get enough.

Absent in the Spring was such a sweet story helped along by all the fabulous locations Carrie treated us to, including the beautifully scenic Scottish Highlands.

Although this is the third book in a series it could be read as a standalone but honestly you do not want to miss out!

Blurb

Losing control never felt so good . . .
A successful lawyer, and the eldest of four sisters, Lucy Shakespeare is used to being in control of everything and everyone around her, most particularly herself - that is until she meets the gorgeous Lachlan MacLeish.
Lachlan's hired Lucy because he needs the best. His inheritance, the Lairdship of Glencarraig, is suddenly in doubt, thanks to his devious half-brother. Glencarraig is the only place where his memories of his family are happy ones and there's no way he's going down without a fight. The very last thing he wants is a distraction, but as soon as he sees Lucy, he knows he's in trouble.
Despite their efforts to resist, it isn't long before Lachlan has Lucy longing to break all her careful rules. As they travel from Scotland, to Paris and on to New York, Lucy can't help but wonder: is it sometimes worth risking it all?
