Let's get to know Michelle Rene a little better....

What is your author name? 
Michelle Rene.
So can you tell us about yourself? Where are you from? Where do you live now? What do you like to do for fun?

I am author of the Strong Hearts Collection, and co-author of the Winter Haven Series with Xana Jordan. I like to say I was born and raised in Kentucky, but I grew up in Florida, where I still live today. By day I work as a Pharmacy Technician, and I spend nights and weekends writing, spending time with family or watching college, more specifically the Florida Gators, play football and basketball.
What was your favourite childhood book? What do you think drew you to this book?

This is going to sound funny, but it's a Sesame Street book called The Monster at the End of This Book. It's one of the first books I remember being given as a gift when I was little. It also became my favorite book to read to my nephews when they were little.
When did you first realise you wanted to write? What inspired you to start writing?

I had just celebrated my 44th birthday and was being reflective, wondering what I could do to challenge myself in the coming year. It dawned on me that I could try writing. Keep in mind, writing was never something I had even considered before. But I loved to read, so I thought I'd give it a try. It wasn't long until I had a story line, and once the characters starting talking to me, I started putting the words down on paper. A year and a half later, I released my first book, Decorating With Love.
What books do you feel have influenced you the most?

That's a tough one. I'm not sure I can narrow that down to specific books.
Do you have a favourite author? If so, who is it you fangirl all over? And what is it about their work that appeals to you?

I have so many favorites for different reasons, but one of my all time favorites, is Olivia Cunning. I love her rock stars, and she so easily writes her characters in ensemble that you can't help but get sucked into the story.
Everyone wants to know what you are currently reading?

The Tenth Girl by Carrie Aarons.
If anything, what are you currently working on?

I'm currently in the middle of editing the third book in my Strong Hearts collection, When Love Grows, which I'm hoping to release in October.
Where is your favourite place to write?

I do most of my writing from my favorite chair, in my living room, while watching television.

Where is your favourite place to read?

Oddly enough, I also read while watching television.
Tell us, do you have any any other talent than writing?

I love to cook and do cross-stitch.
What is your guilty pleasure?

I'm a total T.V. junkie, but absolutely love Hallmark movies. They may be cheesy and sappy, and it doesn't matter if I've seen them once or fifty times I will watch it again and cry unashamedly.
Although I am a coffee lover, I love a cheeky glass of Gin every now and again. Which is your beverage of choice?
What achievement would you like to achieve in the future?

I think every author would like to achieve best-seller status at some point.
Do you have any advice for aspiring writers?

Just write. It doesn't matter what order you write the scenes you can always adjust it later. And listen to your characters, it's their story let them guide you.
Do you have a message for your readers?

Thank you! Without readers, authors would have no reason to write
